East Carolina- American

Departed coach/record:  Heather Macy, 8 seasons (134-117 overall, 61-71 in the American)

Reason for departure:  If the reason given by Macy and the school is to be believed (and there are some real doubts about that), Macy resigned in October after an internal investigation. Macy said that a misunderstanding in practice rules resulted in some broke rules, and she was resigning to save the University and team from the distraction.

New coach/previous position: Kim McNeill, Hartford head coach- Though still early in her head coaching career, McNeill has done a nice job so far. In three seasons at the helm of Hartford, McNeill compiled a 59-38 record and appeared in two America East championship games. She is the fastest coach in Hartford history to 50 wins.

A long-time assistant at Virginia and Georgia, among other schools, McNeill will take over a program that has faced some turmoil. After Macy’s resignation, associate head coach Chad Killinger was named interim head coach. During the season, however, Killington stepped away and assistant Nicole Mealing then stepped in.
