Departed coach/record:  Mike Morris, 17 seasons (279-238 overall, 110-78 in the SOCON)

Reason for departure:  After 25 years at the school, Morris retired from coaching in order to pursue other interests.

New coach/previous position: Carley Kuhns, Valdosta State head coach- Kuhns comes to Samford with a 66-29 record in three seasons at Valdosta State, including two trips to the NCAA tournament, and a run to the Sweet Sixteen this past season.
