Richmond- A10
Departed coach/record: Michael Shafer, 14 seasons (223-214 overall, 103-107 in the A10)
Reason for departure: Once a thriving, steady program, Richmond has posted a losing season each of the past four seasons, going just 9-21 this season. The nine wins are the fewest by the program since the 1985-86 season and Shafer was fired.
New coach/previous position: Aaron Rousell, head coach Bucknell: Likely the front-runner for this job from the beginning, Rousell comes to Richmond with a stellar resume. After building the University of Chicago into a D3 power, Rousell took over a floundering Bucknell program and led them to the NCAA tournament twice.
Richmond athletic director John Hardt hired Rousell at Bucknell, so the connection was a simple one.
