Xavier- Big East

Departed coach/record:  Brian Neal, 6 seasons (76-108 overall, 28-80 in the Big East)

Reason for departure:  After taking over when Amy Waugh resigned right before the season 2013-14 season, Neal found some early success. After going 18-15 in 2014-15, the team posted a 17-13 record the next season. Since then, however, the team has won no more than four games in the Big East and posted a losing record overall. Neal resigned.

New coach/previous position: Melanie Moore, associate head coach Michigan- One of the more respected and well-liked assistants within basketball circles, Moore secured the job coming from a darkhorse position. An Ohio native, Moore comes to Xavier after spending seven seasons at Michigan. She has also been an assistant at Princeton, Dayton, Indiana State, and Siena.
