Women’s basketball bracketology: Tennessee has played itself in, for now
The Lady Vols earned a huge win over LSU
Welcome back to the field, Tennessee! Now don’t get too comfortable. The Lady Vols’ nail-biting win over LSU in the 8-9 game at the SEC Tournament on Thursday made them the last team in, but their reward is, uh, a noon tip against projected 2 seed Mississippi State. Have fun with that.
A loss would not necessarily bump Tennessee out for good, but a win would provide much-needed insurance as the traditional one-bid leagues get ready for their tournaments (and, likely, create a bid-stealer or two). So even if Tennessee loses and manages to stay in the field, fans in Knoxville should spend the rest of the weekend watching scoreboards, rooting against other bubble teams, and rooting for the mid-major favorites.
