11. Atlanta Dream: Sophie Cunningham, 6’1 G/F, Missouri

Here’s another reason to buy on Sophie Cunningham: she can impact games even when her shot, which is normally sure, isn’t falling. Thursday night against Arkansas, she shot just 2-for-11, and yet: she grabbed 12 rebounds, she found her teammates several times late in a close game to facilitate the offense against a feisty Razorbacks team, and the net result is what happens so often with Cunningham on the floor: Missouri won. Watching the Tigers, sometimes it is hard to see where Robin Pingeton’s coaching ends and Cunningham’s basketball IQ begins. If you don’t think that’s a fit for Nicki Collen, well, you haven’t spent much time watching the highly-disciplined Dream.
