2. New York Liberty: Asia Durr, 5’10 G, Louisville

The obvious move for the Liberty is to go get a big. But it’s worth considering what they’d look like in 2019 with the following: a backcourt of Durr and Kia Nurse, the duo sharing ball-handling duties and both capable of hitting threes, defending at an elite level, creating their own shots and hitting perimeter jumpers out of double teams Tina Charles draws—along with Charles herself, and making use of shooters/rebounders like Kiah Stokes, Amanda Zahui B. (who is a bit of both) and whoever else they want to bring back among their own free agents and the shooting-rich group of others on the market. Durr is also a highly marketable star who the new ownership group could make a face of the franchise. There’s a lot to like about this pathway for the Liberty.
