Chippewas who won’t soon be forgotten.

Averaging 20.4 points per game, good for 18th in the nation, in her final season for Central Michigan, senior guard Presley Hudson’s name will be forever etched into program record books.

In the next 24 hours, she will likely become the all-time leading scorer in Chippewa program history. Hudson needs just five points to eclipse a career total of 2,007 points and surpass Crystal Bradford, who laced up for CMU from 2011-2015. Central Michigan takes on Eastern Michigan on Saturday, where Hudson will get her shot.

Her teammate Reyna Frost is not only averaging over 18 points a game behind Hudson but recently broke Central Michigan’s all-time rebounding record, too. To go with her 18 points per game, she’s also averaging 12 rebounds per game on top of it. The Chippewas are 13-5 this season (4-2 in the Mid-American Conference), with Frost and Hudson leading them.

The duo has nearly every game-high for Central Michigan this season on both the offensive and defensive sides of the floor. Hudson dropped 34 points in November, has made six threes in a game on three separate occasions, went 12-12 from the line against Western Kentucky and is coming off a game where she dished out 10 assists.

It doesn’t end there, however. Hudson is also CMU’s career leader in 3-pointers with 353—cashing in on 3.5 per game in 2018-19 alone. From the charity stripe, she’s shooting over 90%, which ranks fifth in the nation. It’s safe to assume she could score her next five points, and gain sole possession of the all-time scoring record, with her eyes closed.

Frost’s resume this year is just as impressive. She’s made 11 field goals on two separate occasions, pulled down 21 rebounds against Northern Illinois, and batted away a season-high four shots against South Dakota State at the start of the season. She averaged a double-double as a junior as well.

The Chippewas came in at No. 8 in the latest Mid Major Top 25. In her 12th season for Central Michigan, head coach Sue Guevara has a powerful pair to rely on in Hudson and Frost.
