It’s getting closer to crunch time.

Happy new year! 2019 promises us many things, but perhaps nothing more exciting than the WNBA Draft and all the speculation, wheeling and/or dealing that goes along with it. (I know the featured image here is Val Ackerman back in 1997, but I couldn’t resist.)

Teams are neck-deep in evaluation mode. There are a significant number of options for every team, starting at the very top. There’s every chance that this board will get scrambled by an early entry, with teams actively planning in case Sabrina Ionescu of Oregon decides to join the league after this, her junior season.

(Incidentally, let me add: most people believe the Aces will take Ionescu first if she comes out, and the majority belief as of now is that she will.)

And as one WNBA talent evaluator put it to me: “Not sure if the draft order of teams will stay the same, either.”

Let’s get crazy, shall we? I’ve spoken to numerous front office personnel, given anonymity, to provide clarity alongside my own evaluations and best projections at the moment. So where are we, roughly three months out from the WNBA Draft?

Let’s take a look. Stats courtesy of HerHoopStats unless otherwise noted.
