The NBA Experience coming to Disney Springs in summer 2019
There’s plenty of WNBA love at the new NBA outpost.
If you thought the happiest place on earth couldn’t get happier, you’re absolutely wrong.
Coming summer of 2019, the basketball gods will make their presence known at Disney World Resort by way of The NBA Experience that features something for every hoops fan far and wide.
Most importantly, however, is Elena Delle Donne featured under the “How do YOU measure up?” sign towards the back of the room. If you zoom in close enough, you’ll find her. Although there is a long way to go in terms of exposure for the W, it’s exciting they they are part of the exhibition. Small steps as this one, and having a presence in the first place, will go an extremely long way.
Other WNBA items include a locker room with up-to-date stats on WNBA stars, historical items from championship WNBA teams, and trivia games with WNBA questions.

Just as the recent renovations to the Atlanta Dream’s now home, State Farm Arena, add a new level of excitement to the game day environment, The NBA Experience does the same for basketball as a whole.
We have reached a day in age where attention spans are minimal. Sitting through a two-hour game without anything else to do no longer meets societal expectations. That’s why we’ll continue to see technology and hands-on, immersive experiences like this one dominating the sports industry.
There probably isn’t a more forward-thinking, innovative league than the NBA. They’ve proven that time and time again.
Even considering the amount of criticism that they draw from WNBA fans — when it comes to exposure and legitimately investing in the league to attract more and new fans — there is still a silver lining.
It is a good thing the WNBA has the NBA on their side and that’s made evident in situations like this because they certainly know how to give people an experience.
With time, it will only get more magical for the WNBA.
