A big week for the big Ute.

Utah’s Megan Huff was named the Pac-12 Conference Player of the week for games played last week. It was the first time in Huff’s career that she’s been named player of the week.

In the one game Utah played last week, a win over BYU, Huff put up a career best 28 points to go along with eight rebounds, one block, and one steal. She helped Utah remain undefeated and 8-0 so far this season.

Huff is the Utes leading scorer, averaging a career-best 20.6 points per game, up from 14.7 last season, while shooting 51.7 percent from the field. She’s also shooting 48.6 percent from the three-point line and 88.9 percent from the free-throw line.

Huff is in her senior year, having transferred from the University of Hawaii following the 2015-16 season. Her dominance so far at Utah should come as no surprise as she was a major standout at Hawaii, where she helped the Rainbow Wahine to a Big West Tournament title.

Since arriving at Utah, Huff has emerged as one of the conference’s top post players. She’s one of the best rebounders in the conference and she was named to the Pac-12 All-Conference team last season, her first with the Utes.

The Utes’ next matchup is this coming Sat, Dec. 15 at home against Weber State.
