4. Ruthy Hebard – Oregon

The Ducks are not only the best team in the Pac-12 but one of the best teams in the entire country. A big part of that is the play of junior forward Ruthy Hebard.

Hebard was last season’s winner of the inaugural Katrina McClain Award given out to the country’s best power forward in the NCAAW. She enters this season once again as a candidate for the same award. Not only that, but she’s also a candidate for the Wooden Award.

Last season, she averaged 17.6 points per game and 9.0 rebounds as a sophomore. She started off this season with 17 points in a win over Alaska-Fairbanks, missing only one shot (6-7 shooting) all game. That was followed up with 11 points, 14 rebounds, and three blocked shots in a win over No.18 Syracuse.

Oregon didn’t get as far as they would’ve hoped last season, bowing out in the Elite Eight. If they manage to get further this year, Hebard will be a big reason why.
