6. Kiana Williams – Stanford

After making it to the Sweet 16 last season, the Cardinals have some big expectations this season.

Those high hopes will depend largely on sophomore guard Kiana Williams. Losing Brittany McPhee will hurt, but Williams will be counted on to help pick up the scoring slack.

As a freshman, Williams led Stanford in three-point shooting at 38.4 percent. She averaged 10.4 points per game. So far, in their opening win over UC Davis, she put up 14 points and dished out three assists. She followed that up in the Cardinals win over Idaho with 19 points and nine assists.

She’s coming into her own as a sophomore. Stanford’s national title hopes will rest partly on her development this season.
