Carolyn Kieger continues to elevate her alma mater as head coach. She enters her fifth season 72-56 career record at the helm. The Golden Eagles go into the 2018-19 season just as they finished the 2017-18 regular season: tied with DePaul.

In preparation for the BIG EAST, coach Kieger and Marquette Athletics have again set forth big time non-conference battles, including the 2018 NCAA Women’s Champions Notre Dame at home.

The senior class has been the spark for the turnaround at Marquette. Six seniors and another four juniors lead the Eagles.  Only two true underclassman–freshman Chloe Marotta and sophomore Selena Lott–are on the current roster.

2017-18 Record: Overall Record 24-10; BIG EAST Conference 15-3; Tied First

2018-19 Preseason Poll: First place, tied

Key Returners:

Allazia Blockton is again the player to watch! Coaches tabbed her as the Preseason Player of the Year for the second season. She averaged 19.1 points per game and became the seventh player to win BIG EAST Player of the Year and Scholar-Athlete of the Year award (Maya Moore, Ruth Riley, Jennifer Rizzotti and Rebecca Lobo–not bad company to keep).

Erika Davenport averaged 11.7 points and 8.5 rebounds for Marquette last season. She posted a .523 field goal percentage and was named one of two BIG EAST players named to the 2019 Cheryl Miller Award watch list.
