Liz Cambage provided quite an encore to her 53-point record.
DALLAS—On a night where basketball greatness was in attendance, Liz Cambage didn’t disappoint.

As Dawn Staley and WNBA president Lisa Borders looked on, Cambage led the Wings to another home victory over the Mystics, 90-81. She had a game-high 35 points, 17 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals in 35 minutes.
Two days after her historic night netting a new league record of 53 points, Cambage set another record. The dominant Aussie is now the first player to score at least 35 points or more in consecutive games. With a total of 88 points in consecutive games, she has scored the most points of any player (previously Maya Moore, 2014).
It didn’t impress one person, though: Cambage herself.
“I didn’t think I shot that well tonight,” Cambage told High Post Hoops following the game, after being informed about her new records.
The Mystics threw everything they had at her defensively, including the occasional triple team. Nothing was enough, becoming just another victim of Cambage’s lethal combination of size and versatility.
“I honestly thought I would be double or triple-teamed tonight and Skylar Gray or would go off. But I guess I was feeling it again tonight,” Cambage said.
Cambage has told reporters that her focus is solely on each game. But the results, big-picture, are apparent. The Wings are now third in the WNBA at 14-9. Defensively, her presence helped limit Elena Delle Donne to just 9 points, and kept the Mystics under their average of 82.8 points per game.
“I’m sorry for anyone who had to watch that, it wasn’t our game, that was ugly,” Cambage said.
After the win over the Mystics, Cambage expressed excitement in playing on All-Star captain, Candace Parker’s team. “I love Candace! It’s always been my dream to play with Candace,” she told ESPN’s LaChina Robinson.
When asked about the international attention her record has received, Camage talked about her mission for equality in women’s sports.
“I’m getting a lot of support back home. I’ve always tried to push the women’s game to another level, push it to a level we deserve,” Cambage said. “I want the world to see our game.”
After Tuesday’s performance, there’s no doubt that the world sees Liz Cambage.
