The Money Line: Spread trends to know for today’s games
We are about a third of the way through the season and with the exception of the Indiana Fever, it would appear every team is in playoff contention. The Lynx have rattled off three wins in a row and appear to be taking shape, while the Sun find themselves on a four-game skid after starting the season 7-1. Both those teams, along with eight others, are in action tonight and there are a handful of trends to know for each game when looking from a betting perspective.
Seattle Storm
Dallas Wings (-2.5, -110)
Perhaps a surprising line considering Seattle has the third best record in the league, the Storm find themselves as underdogs for the fourth time this year (they are 2-1 in covering in those games). These two teams don’t have a ton of trends against the spread that would make me feel comfortable betting on this game, but here is some info for you anyways.
-Dallas is 3-1-1 as a favorite this year, 4-1 at home and 2-1 with the spread under 5
-Seattle is 2-1 as a road underdog
New York Liberty
Los Angles Sparks (-10, -110)
The Sparks find themselves in a familiar position of being favorites; only twice this season have they been underdogs. A Libs win would surprise me but this is about the spread.
-LA is 7-2-1 as the favorite, 5-1 at home and 2-0 when favored by 10 points or more
-This is only the second time NY has been the underdog on the road (0-1)
