18. Diana Taurasi, Phoenix Mercury

It is frightening to consider that the Diana Taurasi we’ve been watching for all these years was, in many ways, a fatigued one, playing overseas almost every winter. Well, this past offseason, she stayed stateside, and now she’ll build on what was a fantastic 2017 season in a system and lineup optimized for her. Briann January at point guard allows her the freedom to roam off the ball, adding to her all-time WNBA record number of threes made. Though she turns 36 on June 11, Taurasi is more accurate than ever, shooting 38.4 percent from deep, and seemingly 95 percent from three when the game is on the line. She doesn’t turn the ball over (just 11.4 turnover percentage in 2017) and about the worst you can say about her is the defensive effort is, well, not a constant.
