2018 WNBA Twitter stream schedule to kick off with day-long quadruple-header
Two days after the start of the season, the WNBA will kick off its 20-game 2018 Twitter streaming schedule with a day-long quadruple-header that will feature three playoff teams from last year.
The day, dubbed #WNBAAllDay on Twitter, starts at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, May 20, when the Las Vegas Aces visit the Connecticut Sun. After that, the action heads to Texas, where the Dallas Wings will host the Atlanta Dream at 3 p.m. Then, after a quick break, the New York Liberty visit the Chicago Sky at 7 p.m. and the Phoenix Mercury visit the Seattle Storm at 9.
With the exception of the Twitter opener on the 20th and the season finale (Sparks vs. Sun) on Aug. 19, all games will be played on Tuesdays, with start times ranging from morning to late night. Each of the WNBA’s 12 teams will play on Twitter at least twice during the season.
This is the second consecutive year that the WNBA will stream games live on Twitter. Last year, also with a 20-game schedule, the WNBA averaged 613,000 viewers per game. The most successful broadcasts, according to a press release, were games between the Mercury and Wings, Stars and Wings, and Mercury and Lynx. All three of those games averaged 1.1 million viewers.
