The Washington Mystics kicked off their 2018 training camp with several players still wrapping up their time overseas. Krystal Thomas, Kristi Toliver, LaToya Sanders and Asia Taylor will arrive later on, meaning the Mystics have the option to get a look at other players in their absence.

Three undrafted free agents — Tanaya Atkinson (Temple), AJ Alix (Florida State) and Tinara Moore (Central Michigan) — signed training camp contracts with the Mystics. They’re joined by fellow rookies Ariel Atkins (2018 No. 7 overall pick) and Myisha Hines-Allen (2018 No. 19 overall pick).

Rebecca Greenwell, selected in the third round out of Duke, was suspended for the season after undergoing knee surgery on draft night. By suspending her, the Mystics will retain her rights and ensure that she’ll have a chance to be in camp with the club next year.

Also among the new additions are veteran forwards Devereaux Peters and Monique Currie. Both signed with the team this offseason as free agents. Stretch forward Tianna Hawkins and perennial All-WNBA performer Elena Delle Donne also return up front.

One big name is absent from that list. 2015 All-Star Emma Meesseman will miss the 2018 season to rest and fulfill her commitments to the Belgian National Team.

Tayler Hill, Natasha Cloud, Tierra Ruffin-Pratt, and 2017 first round pick Shatori Walker-Kimbrough return on the perimeter. Hill is working her way back after suffering a torn ACL last July.
