2019 WNBA Draft: Way-too-early mock draft
Teaira McCowan, 6’7 C, Mississippi State
So you can’t teach height, but if you could, you’d probably try to teach it the Teaira McCowan way: fundamentally sound, strong, blocking shots in mass quantities, and rebounding like few others in the game. She also took her game to another level in Mississippi State’s 2018 NCAA run, blowing away the all-time record for rebounds in the postseason and posting 20-20s like they were the putback layups she features. Ways she can get to number one overall will be more consistent on offensive sets beyond just establishing position down low, getting better at finding teammates out of the double teams and improving from the free throw line. But make no mistake, she’s ready to impact the game at the next level right now.
