With the national semifinals set for Friday night, our own Ari Chambers set out to find what matters to the best of the best in women’s basketball not just as players, but as people.

So for Victoria Vivians: not just who she follows at the WNBA level, but what is her go-to dance move? For Morgan William, whether she likes playing basketball better, or Madden? And Teaira McCowan—what’s her go-to move, on and also off the court?

Then there’s Ari’s chat with Louisville superstar Asia Durr. Not only does she have a strong opinion about Kobe vs. LeBron, her reasons are detailed and reflect her game on the court. Durr also makes a strong case for eating meat.

And then there’s Notre Dame. Sure, you’ve seen Marina Mabrey sink seven three-pointers in a single NCAA Tournament game, but have you seen her dance? She also talks about why her favorite opponent to face is Connecticut, her legacy with the Fighting Irish, how she managed to transition to point guard in-season, and much more.

As for Arike Ogunbowale, the truth comes out: she is a breakfast fan. All day. And she does a little reminiscing about the Tennessee win, discusses what she thinks is more important about her game, and gets us even more excited for the Uconn-Notre Dame showdown.

Or as Mabrey put it, “What they do for men’s basketball , they do for women’s basketball for this game.”

Learn a little more about the women you’ll be watching take the court on Friday night.
