The Summitt’s 2018 WNBA Draft Big Board, v. 2.0
5. Seattle Storm: Jordin Canada, 5’6 G UCLA
While the Storm have been aggressive on the trade and signing front—grabbing Natasha Howard to slot next to Breanna Stewart in the frontcourt is pure brilliance, and Courtney Paris at center takes some of the rebounding pressure off of Stewart as well—they still don’t have an heir apparent to Sue Bird at point guard, apologies to Noelle Quinn. Canada is just the kind of player who can take over for Bird someday, and in the meantime, give Dan Hughes an elite decision-maker and defensive presence, with a steal percentage of 4.6, tenth in the country, per HerHoopStats (which you should be subscribing to, by the way).
