With the NCAA revealing its top 16 teams last week, the Summitt Hoops Bracketology was in for a bit of a shakeup. Georgia moved way up on the list, for example, as the committee gave the Bulldogs a 4 seed, as it stood last Thursday. There were also some smaller adjustments, with Baylor moving up a couple spots and Oregon going from a high 2 seed to the fourth 1 seed.

So as of Thursday, my top 16 matched the committee’s exactly. And then thing started to change. For one thing, Notre Dame staged a remarkable comeback to beat Tennessee, while Oregon lost to in-state rival Oregon State. Those two teams swapped spots. Rutgers then took two losses, dropping the Scarlet Knights out of protected seed territory. Maryland took its spot.

You’ll see more changes in the full bracket here. For analysis and an attempt at making reason out of the whole field, keep reading.
