McCarty scored a season-high 24 points and connected on 76.9 percent (10-13) from the field to help the Longhorns hand No.12 ranked Florida State its first loss of the season. McCarty sat out the first game of her colligate career due to injury earlier in the week, but returned to the floor in a dominant fashion. McCarty’s 24 points tied for the most by a Texas player in a single game this season.

McCarty, the 2017 Big 12 Conference Player of the Year, appears on every major preseason and mid-season Player of the Year Watch List and also is on the watch list for the Nancy Lieberman Award, which recognizes the nation’s top point guard.

Ana Llanusa earned the Big 12 freshman of the week honor after her stellar performance against previously unbeaten New Mexico. Llanusa netted a season-best 27 points, while connecting on four three-pointers and grabbing seven rebounds in route to the 105-63 win. Llanusa’s 27 points are the most scored by a Big 12 freshman in one game this season and are tied for the 10th-most scored by an OU freshman in a single game in school history. The Oklahoma native is leading all league freshman in scoring with 12.4 points per game.

Oklahoma faces No. 1/1 UConn on Tuesday night in Uncasville, Conn., for the Women’s Holiday Showcase with tip-off set for 6 p.m. CT. The Sooners will look to put a halt to Geno Auriemma winning his 1,000th game. CBS Sports Network will televise the contest.
