Something we really don’t know, even after last season, is how Kayla McBride would do in a system where she isn’t asked to do everything. But her wing strength allows her to play up despite standing just 5’11. She can defend opposing threes, she must be defended anywhere on the court, she has a limitless motor, and she can facilitate or even work as a designated shooter. The big question is whether Bill Laimbeer has figured out a way to use McBride, Kelsey Plum and Moriah Jefferson in the same lineup. If not, it will make for a fascinating decision for Las Vegas who goes, and you can be sure teams like Laimbeer’s former group in New York will be after McBride this offseason.
