Temple’s Tanaya Atkinson is Your AAC Player of the Week

Temple Head Coach Tonya Cardoza said that during her team’s European trip prior to the season, she had to push Tanaya  Atkinson to climb the Eiffel Tower due to a fear of heights.  The senior guard made it with the rest of her teammates and apparently this season she is taking her game to new heights too.  In three games last week, she averaged 24 points and 11.7 rebounds per game including 30 points against Rutgers.  Her performance earned her AAC Player of the Week Honors for last week.

Owls Senior Guard Tanaya Atkinson spoke at AAC Media Day

Freshman of the Week
Iimar’i Thomas of the Cincinnati Bearcats, in three victories, averaged 15.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per contest.  She is the AAC freshman of the week.
