AAC Award Update: Dangerfield and Davis Take Home Player and Freshman of the Week Awards

The American Athletic Conference posted its weekly awards today.

Honor Roll
McKenzie Adams, a senior guard at SMU, scored 38 points to help lead her team to a seven-point win against Nicholls State University.

USF’s Maria Jespersen scored 20 points in a first-game of the season victory over LSU then followed it up with a 17-point performance against Houston Baptist.

In Tanaya Atkinson’s season debut, she had 23 points and 13 rebounds in a win over Delaware State.

Fifi Ndour, a forward at UCF, recorded a double-double with 24 points and 12 rebounds in her team’s loss versus Mercer.

Memphis Forward Cheyenne Creighton averaged 24.5 points and 9 rebounds in a win in the Tiger’s season opener and a loss at Little Rock (Arkansas).

AAC Freshman of the Week
With a double-double of 21 points and 17 rebounds in her first collegiate game against Delaware State, Temple’s Mia Davis is the AAC Freshman of the Week.

AAC Player of the Week
At the same site where this year’s Final Four will be held, UConn’s Crystal Dangerfield arguably played the best game of her college career.  She made six three-point field goals as part of a 24-point afternoon.  She also had three assists, six rebounds and four steals without committing a single turnover against the Stanford Cardinal.  Here are some highlights.
