A look at Elena and Amanda’s Dream Wedding

Giving back and stepping out
Another important theme both brides wanted to tie into the wedding is giving back. From the flower to the registry, Elena and Amanda have included ways to help others.
The couple has incorporated sustainable practices into their wedding, mostly through re-purposing the floral arrangements. “We spent a lot of time picking out all these beautiful flowers and obviously we’re excited to share that with our guests. But to only share those for one day makes zero sense to us,” Delle Donne shared.
Therefore, after the wedding, the flowers will bring some beauty to nearby senior centers and women’s shelters. “The wedding isn’t just about us and our day. It can also impact others and make them happy.”
The same is true for the registry. Since the pair have been living together for some time, they didn’t feel the need for a registry. The Knot’s team of experts introduced to the idea of creating a registry to benefit the Elene Delle Donne Charitable Foundation.
Elena’s foundation supports the Special Olympics and Lyme Disease awareness. Delle Donne’s sister and maid of honor Lizzie has special needs, and Elena herself battles with Lyme Disease. Guests and fans can celebrate the couple and their community work by visiting the wedding registry page.
Additionally, the couple agreed to work with The Knot to show they are a normal couple. “To be working with The Knot … and let people see how beautiful this wedding is and how much love is filled in that ceremony and in the entire day, is huge to us,” said the Washington Mystics forward. “Even though we’re both private people, I think that definitely outweighed everything.”
Once the wedding and the honeymoon are over, the couple is ready to begin their married life.
