When the news broke last Friday that San Antonio native NaLyssa Smith (the #7 overall prospect in the 2018 class according to ESPN) committed to Baylor, you could almost hear the collective roars in Waco from across the country. Smith, a 6’2 forward, marks the first commitment in that class for Kim Mulkey and her staff and it couldn’t have been much better. Smith chose Baylor over defending national champions South Carolina, with Louisville and Ohio State also just missing out. First things first, the video of how Smith announced her decision:
In a time where a lot of commitment videos are produced as if they were Hollywood films, this was a nice reprieve from the gaudy, over the top stuff.
