In her two-year WNBA tenure, the former Tennessee forward has moved among several teams. Burdick was originally drafted second round, fourteenth overall, by the Los Angeles Sparks in 2015. Soon after, she signed with the Atlanta Dream, playing both 2015 and 2016 seasons with them.
The New York Liberty acquired Burdick in 2017. After a high-producing preseason, she contributed 10 points in 17 minutes in the regular season opener against the Stars. However, Burdick’s playing time became limited proceeding her first game. The Liberty eventually released her upon Epiphany Prince’s return from the 2017 EuroBasket Women’s Tournament.
Recently, San Antonio seems to be finding a flow that has led them to win four out of their last five games (they are 7-22 overall). Their latest win, a thrilling 84-68 victory against the Atlanta Dream, was achieved despite the absence of de Souza.
The Stars will head out to Seattle to face the Storm on Friday, August 18 at 10pm EST.
