WNBA injury update: Mystics guard Natasha Cloud still out
The Washington Mystics have suffered their fair share of injuries in the past few weeks. Mystics guard Natasha Cloud has been sitting out due to foot troubles the past few games, and will remain ineligible.
Tuesday, July 25, Cloud initially injured her right foot in the 85-76 win over the San Antonio Stars during the third quarter. She missed the following game against the Atlanta Dream.
Cloud’s partial plantar fascia tear has yet to heal, and as a result, she did not suit up for tonight’s San Antonio Stars game and will be out for the Mystics/Phoenix face-off as well. The Mystics ultimately suffered a 74-76 loss against the Stars tonight.
Cloud comes off of the bench averaging 4.2 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game in 18.9 minutes. She had a season high 12 points on the June 25 Chicago match.
Cloud and [former] starting guard, Tayler Hill’s injuries leave the Mystics depending on the rest of their bench for back court efficiency. Veteran Kristi Tolliver has contributed offensively in the absence of her fellow Mystics guards.
The Washington Mystics are currently 4th overall with a 14-10 (0.583) record. They return home to face the Phoenix Mercury on August 6th, without Cloud, and the Indiana Fever on the 12th.
