Simms, an 18th overall, second round 2017 WNBA Draft pack, played 10 games in her rookie run. The former Old Dominion University guard averaged five minutes per game, scoring 1.2 points, 1.1 rebounds, 0.5 assists and 0.2 blocks.

Prior to her WNBA debut, Simms was named Conference USA Player of the Year for the 2016-17 season and averaged 26 points per game, good for second-in-the-nation placement.  During her tenure at ODU, she accumulated 2,151 career points, which ranks her fifth all-time.

As the season persists, the Mystics have not had much luck with consistency.  Franchise player, Elena Delle Donne, sat out for two games as a result of an ankle sprain before returning for the July 25 Mystics/Stars matchup.  On her return, she contributed 29 points in her 35 minutes, leading to an 85-76 Mystics win.

In the same game, guard Natasha Cloud suffered a partial plantar fascia tear in the third quarter. She will miss, at minimum, the next two games.  Her teammate, Tayler HIll, is out for the season with an ACL injury.

Next up, the Mysticshost the Connecticut Sun tomorrow night at 7:00 pm at Verizon Center.
