Five trades the WNBA thinks the WNBA should make
Jewell Loyd to Chicago
Imani Boyette and Sky first round pick pick to San Antonio
Kelsey Plum to Seattle
No fewer than three different people suggested this one. And it all makes sense. Consider: the Stars have not appeared particularly committed to the Kelsey Plum project dating back to their internal debates over drafting her. Instead, they could add a potential long-term franchise center in Boyette, working in tandem with Kayla Alexander in big lineups or next to Isabelle Harrison, while putting them in the mix for one of the best players in the 2018 draft.
The Sky would add a local star in Loyd, the kind of player you build around, one who could join Quigley and Vandersloot in a lethal three-guard pairing, and who would operate extremely well in the two-person game with Dolson.
As for Plum? She returns to the Seattle area where she became a household name, gets to be mentored by Sue Bird, and represents a long-term pairing with Breanna Stewart for a Storm team still searching for its identity.
