The San Antonio Stars have signed guard Sequoia Holmes for the remainder of the 2017 season, the team announced Tuesday in a press release. This is her third WNBA team in as many professional seasons.

Holmes made her WNBA debut in 2008 as a member of the Houston Comets, averaging 3.1 points and 2.1 rebounds in 11.9 minutes in her rookie season. In 2010, she signed with the Phoenix Mercury and made an appearance in the 2010 Western Conference Finals. She averaged 1.8 points and 1.3 rebounds in 15 games for Phoenix that year.

Holmes has played Internationally since 2011, winning the Angolan Champions Cup in 2014 and 2016 with GD Inter-Clube de Luanda. Holmes averaged 11.3 points and 3.1 rebounds abroad.

Signing Holmes adds another guard to the Stars after a key injury and recent roster moves. Moriah Jefferson entered concussion protocol on July 7, leaving the team shorthanded. Additionally, guards Meighan Simmons and Sophie Brunner were waived on July 6. Simmons and Brunner were acquired in the trade that sent Monique Curie to Phoenix.

Holmes and the Stars return to action Wednesday on the road against the Indiana Fever. That is the first of three road games before the Stars return home on Thursday, July 20 against the Fever.
