Chicago Sky guard Cappie Pondexter will be unable to play in Saturday night’s contest against the Minnesota Lynx.
On Saturday morning, the Sky announced that Pondexter had entered concussion protocol. No timetable for her return was listed.
The 34-year-old Pondexter is the most experienced member of the Sky roster. The 12-year veteran has played in every game for the Sky this season, averaging 12 points and a career-high 5.9 assists per game. Pondexter ranks third in the WNBA in assists.
Although Pondexter’s field goal percentage has dropped considerable from last year, her absence creates a considerable void as Chicago hosts the team with the best record in the WNBA.
