Katie Smith reflects on the anniversary of Title IX and the work still left to do

Caught up in the daily grind of the WNBA season, it could be hard to step back sometimes and look at the big picture. On Friday, Howard Megdal asked New York Liberty assistant coach Katie Smith to do just that, however, and give her thoughts on the 45th anniversary of Title IX.

Smith was born shortly after Title IX passed and grew up during the early reforms and hiccups natural in implementing such a game-changing policy. From her time in college, to her playing days, to her current tenure as a coach, Smith has seen the progress first hand, and knows how far we still have to go.
