2019 point guard Anaya Peoples committed to Notre Dame on Thursday morning via a post on her personal Twitter.
In her note, which can be found as an image in the above tweet, she called her commitment “truly a blessing and dream come true.”
ESPN ranks Peoples as the top point guard and the seventh-best overall recruit in her class. The Danville, Illinois native also had interest from UConn, defending champion South Carolina, and a bevy of others.
ESPN’s scouting report says she has a “scorer’s mentality” and can shoot, go 1-on-1, and create in the half court.
Peoples is the first 2019 commitment for Muffett McGraw and the Fighting Irish. She will join fellow top-100 point guards and Notre Dame commits Jenna Brown and Katlyn Gilbert, who are a year ahead of her.
