Twenty years ago today, the WNBA played its first-ever game. The Los Angeles Sparks took on the New York Liberty at the Forum.
The Liberty won, 67-57. “It wasn’t the prettiest of games, but we showed a little bit of what we could do,” Liberty center Rebecca Lobo said when it was over. “It’s only going to get better.”
