Guard Alex Bentley has returned to the Connecticut Sun after playing for Belarus in the FIBA EuroBasket Women’s Tournament.

To make room on the roster, the Sun waived Feyonda Fitzgerald.

Bentley played three games in the tournament’s group play, averaging 14 points, 4.3 assists, and four rebounds. Over seven games with the Sun before heading overseas, she accumulated 24 assists to just 10 turnovers to go along with her 8.4 points per game.

Fitzgerald appeared in just two games during Bentley’s absence and played eight total minutes.

Bentley’s final game before departing was an eight-point win over the San Antonio Stars on June 3. Since then, Connecticut has won three more in a row and appears to be hitting its stride just as its starting backcourt becomes whole again.

The Sun will visit the New York Liberty on Friday evening for a 7:30 p.m. ET tip. It will be a rematch of a 20-point blowout that Connecticut administered a week ago.
