Washington Mystics head coach Mike Thibault and assistant coach Eric Thibault will miss Friday night’s game at Minnesota in order to attend the funeral of a family member, the team announced on Tuesday.

Frank Thibault, Mike Thibault’s father and Eric Thibault’s grandfather, passed away on June 16. The coaches’ availability for Sunday’s game at Chicago is still to be determined, according to the Mystics.

Assistant Marianne Stanley, the only other coach on the staff, will coach the Mystics on Friday, the team told The Summitt.

Washington has followed an early five-game winning streak with losses in two of their last three games, including a four-point defeat to the Dallas Wings on Sunday.
