Former SEC All-Freshman Team guard Te’a Cooper has committed to South Carolina, she announced on her Twitter page on Monday.

Cooper will sit out next season per NCAA transfer rules, but will have two years of eligibility remaining when she takes the court for the Gamecocks in 2018-19.

The 5’8 guard missed all of 2016-17 after suffering a left knee injury, but played in 36 games for the Volunteers the season before, starting 15 of them and averaging 8.6 points per game. Prior to her freshman season at Tennessee, Cooper was a McDonald’s and Jordan Brand All-American, and was a four-year starter and three-time state champion for McEachern High School in Georgia.

With her commitment, Cooper becomes the latest high-profile transfer to land at South Carolina. Transfers Kaela Davis and Alisha Gray helped the Gamecocks win a national championship last year, while Kentucky transfer Alexis Jennings sat out. She will be eligible for 2017-18.
