Sydney Wiese says she is happy to represent the WNBA on her forehead.
The Sparks rookie and her signature headband have played five games at the professional level, highlighted by a 22-point performance against the Mystics in her second career game. As a first-round pick fresh off a season at Oregon State where she led the Beavers in scoring and took the team to the Sweet 16, Wiese has high expectations.
She’s still adjusting to the professional game and figuring out where exactly she fits on a championship-caliber team. After the Sparks’ 90-75 win over the Liberty on Tuesday, Howard Megdal caught up with her and asked about her game, what she needs to do, and, of course, her headband.
