The University of Kentucky has signed assistant coach Lin Dunn to a one-year extension, keeping her on the sideline for the 2017-18 season, the school announced on Thursday.

The Women’s Basketball Hall of Famer has been coaching since 1970, with stops at Austin Peay, Ole Miss, Miami, and Purdue in college, as well as the Seattle Storm and Indiana Fever in the WNBA. She won a WNBA championship as the Fever head coach in 2012 and was part of the coaching staff for Team USA in the 1992 Olympic games.

Dunn came out of retirement in 2016 to join Kentucky coach Matthew Mitchell on the Wildcat bench.

She expressed her excitement to keep working with Mitchell and the rest of the Kentucky staff in a press release:

"“It has been great working with Matthew, Kyra, Niya and Amber and I am really looking forward to us continuing to work together next season,” Dunn said. “The great thing about our staff is that we all have similar core values that make it easy for us to work together. I want to continue to help them build a program that wins championships and invests in its players. I love the Big Blue Nation and cannot wait to be back on the sidelines.”"

Kentucky has reached the NCAA Tournament in eight consecutive years under Mitchell. The Wildcats went 22-11 in 2016-17, losing to Ohio State in the Second Round.
