Transfer season in the NCAA continued its course on Tuesday, headlined by a pair of Big 12 athletes moving to new teams.

After two seasons at Baylor, Beatrice Mompremier is heading for Miami. The transfer is a homecoming for the 6’4″ forward, who was a former prep star at Miami Senior High School.

“She is such an accomplished player who has already achieved so much,” Miami head coach Katie Meier said in a published statement. “She was very productive in her time at Baylor and, although we have to wait a year, her experience will really help elevate our program to even greater heights.”

Mompremier made the most of her limited minutes at Baylor. She averaged just 14.5 minutes per game in her sophomore season, but managed to post 8.3 points and 6.5 rebounds per contest. She recorded four double-doubles, including one in the opening round of this year’s NCAA tournament. In a runaway win over Texas Southern, Mompremier had 22 points and 11 rebounds. Throw in a shooting clip of 55 percent, and Mompremier’s stat line highlights a lofty potential that Miami can use in future seasons.

In her freshman season, Mompremier led Baylor in rebounds and blocks, which was enough to earn a spot on the All-Big 12 Freshman Team. When Mompremier resumes play in the 2018-19 season, she will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Elsewhere, Arkansas announced the arrival of Chelsea Dungee, a transfer from Oklahoma. Although Dungee is a native of Oklahoma, she has a connection of sorts with Mike Neighbors, the new head coach of the Razorbacks.

“Chelsea played for Darlene Calip, who I worked with at Tulsa, and so I am confident we have added a much-needed and high-quality player to our Razorback roster,” Neighbors said in a statement. “She is widely known for being ultra-competitive and willing to do whatever it takes to help her team.”

Like Mompremier, Dungee will have to sit out next season to comply with NCAA transfer rules, but the 5’11” guard put up respectable numbers for Oklahoma. Making the All-Big 12 Freshman Team, Dungee averaged 7.4 points per game and converted 81.1 percent of her free throw attempts. Her best performance came in a road win over Texas Tech in February, picking up 18 points and nine rebounds.
