The Money Line: WNBA odds for Saturday's season-opening games

Opening day is tomorrow, and if you've been following along, I've been focusing all articles on the Vegas odds and with the games finally beginning, we will continue that trend with a classic pick 'em style column.rnrnWith odds from 16 different sites and casinos, I can take the liberty of picking with odds I like best for the sake of this article.rnrnAs a note: this is simply for fun and I am not putting actually money down on any WNBA games. Home team is always listed second. Lets get started!rnrn[nextslide teaser="Garden party" slider="true" /]rnrn rnrn[caption id="attachment_1262" align="alignnone" width="850"] SAN ANTONIO, TX - AUGUST 26: Tina Charles[/caption]rnrn San Antonio Stars (+7.5, -110) rn New York Liberty (-7.5, -110) rn Total: 151.5 rnrnBetting on sports is always unpredictable and being too confident oftentimes ends with a loss. That being said, I'm tossing all caution to the win and taking New York all day long. With no disrespect intended to the Stars, I just don't think their bigs can hang with the likes of Tina Charles, Kiah Stokes and Kia Vaughn. Could end up looking silly if Kelsey Plum, Moriah Jefferson and Kayla McBride show out, but I'll take the Liberty giving the 7.5 points and I'll take the over (thought admittedly not as confident on that one.)rnrn[nextslide teaser="Storm in LA" slider="true" /]rnrn rnrn[caption id="attachment_1261" align="alignnone" width="850"] SEATTLE, WA - SEPTEMBER 11: Sue Bird[/caption]rnrn Seattle Storm (+11.5, -106) rn Los Angeles Sparks (-11.5, -106) rn Total: 147.5 rnrnWe saw this matchup in last season's opening day and the Sparks cruised to a 96-66 victory. Though I think the victor will be the same, the 11.5 points are too enticing to pass up. The Sparks have some new faces, but plenty of the regulars lead by Candace Parker and Nneka Ogwumike. The Storm, meanwhile, will begin on the road with the three headed monster of Sue Bird, Breanna Stewart and Jewell Loyd. Most sites have this game at a 7.5 spread, and at that number my opinion changes, but with 11.5 available, give me the Storm and give me the over. rnrn[nextslide teaser="A Dream in Connecticut" slider="true" /]rnrn rnrn[caption id="attachment_1264" align="alignnone" width="850"] ATLANTA, GA - AUGUST 28: Alyssa Thomas[/caption]rnrn Atlanta Dream (+7, -110) rn Connecticut Sun (-7, -110) rn Total: 157.5 rnrnI'm really not sure what to make of a Angle McCoughtry-less Dream team, but I know it scares me as far as pick 'em goes. Elizabeth Williams had a great season last time out, but the rest of this roster leaves me with a lot of questions. The Sun, meanwhile, are attempting to make the playoffs for the first time ever in Connecticut with someone other than Mike Thibault at the helm. With Chiney Ogwumike out for the entire season with an injury (the second time of her career this has happened), it will fall on the shoulders of players like Jonquel Jones , Alex Bentley and Alyssa Thomas to pick up the slack. I like the home team here, so give me the Sun and the under. rnrn rnrn
