WATCH: New York Liberty’s Rebecca Allen talks 2017 season
Even though Rebecca Allen got a late start to her New York Liberty career—injuries cut short her 2015, and delayed her 2016—she made up for lost time as a critical member of the New York Liberty down the stretch.
Playing in 21 games, including six starts, Allen managed to shoot 56.5 percent from three on nearly four attempts per game. Though she struggled with her overall defense, her 3.2 block percentage represents her potential on that end of the floor, with her next-level athleticism, as she gets more comfortable with New York’s defensive schemes.
Still just 24, Allen is a prime candidate to break out in a huge way for the Liberty this season, and the favorite to start at the three. She spoke to The Summitt about all this and more.
