Darkhorse alert! This may be the part of the article that leads to angry Liberty fans flooding my email inbox, but that’s okay. Allen’s credentials speak for themselves: All-time assist leader in Notre Dame and ACC history. Three-time Lieberman Award semifinalist. Two-time All-American. All that said, there is no doubt that the Liberty have a ton of guards on their roster, but for me, I’m not convinced that Allen won’t beat them out. Recently acquired Bria Hartley has, yet to establish a regular role in the league, and she is coming back from having her first-born son. Brittany Boyd has had flashes, but suffered from inconsistency in her two seasons. With Shoni Schimmel out of commission until who knows when, the door is open for Allen to plant herself in the rotation. If she does, watch out. She is a proven player and on one of the best teams in the league, a recipe for success.
