With the eighth pick in the 2017 WNBA Draft, the Connectiut Sun selected Brionna Jones, center out of Maryland.

Jones, a 6’3 rebounding machine, finished second in the nation in true shooting percentage, while showing she’s capable of matching up against anyone. Notably, in her junior year, she shot 12-for-14 while defended by Breanna Stewart.

Jones should contribute immediately to a Sun team already strong up front with Jonquel Jones, but in need of some additional scoring with Chiney Ogwumike expected to miss most if not all of the 2017 season due to injury.
