With the fifth pick in the 2017 WNBA Draft, the San Antonio Stars selected Nia Coffey, wing out of Northwestern.

Coffey, a rugged wing with projectable offensive game, should help the Stars at the wing, a position of need for San Antonio to complement the now-stacked backcourt and underrated center Kayla Alexander.

Coffey can do a bit of everything, with Synergy grading her as excellent on things ranging from scoring post ups to defending isolations.

Note: A previous edition of this story said that Coffey would be traded to Chicago. As of now, that hasn’t happened.
