WNBA Draft: Results, pick-by-pick analysis of the 2020 draft

The first draft twist

DEREK JAMES: The Lynx said before the draft they would draft for best player available over need and they appeared to do neither with the sixth-overall pick. With forward Megan Walker and point guards Crystal Dangerfield and Tyasha Harris on the board, the Lynx stunned many observers by selecting South Carolina forward Mikiah Herbert Harrigan. Herbert Harrigan had an illustrious collegiate career and is talented, but time will have to tell if this was the right choice considering the other options on the board at the time.
